Getting here

Cross the bridge, find the ocean block, then let the car rest.

The arrival has two parts: the Delmarva drive or airport choice, then the first local decision — where to park, where to sleep, and how quickly you can hear the surf.

Arrival, bridge, and beach-block choices

Ocean City starts with the Delmarva approach, then becomes a park-and-walk beach town.

Compare Salisbury, Baltimore, Washington, Philadelphia, Annapolis, Assateague, and nearby Delmarva stops before choosing the first-night rhythm: cross the bridge early when possible, settle near the water, then let the boardwalk or bay handle the evening.

Drive

US-50 carries most first arrivals

Baltimore, Washington, Annapolis, and much of the Mid-Atlantic funnel toward the Bay Bridge and Delmarva roads before the beach finally appears.

Fly

Salisbury is closest, larger airports are broader

Salisbury keeps the drive short; Baltimore, Washington, and Philadelphia usually offer more flights with a longer final approach.

Treat the first evening gently

A simple dinner, a beach walk, and a boardwalk preview feel better than trying to solve every activity before the bags are down.
